Conveyor technology

Heavy-load conveyor technology

Proper material and goods flow management throughout a production location is crucial for process optimization. The goal is to considerably enhance efficiency in various ways like faster turnaround, increased throughput, improved parts and materials logistics, and overall process design. There is a variety of conveyor technologies and systems that can be leveraged to implement suitable intra-logistics concepts. Manufacturing machines and machine tools involves many labor-intensive production stages with a lot of materials. For very bulky and heavy parts, conventional conveyor systems often prove to be too complex to set up as well as too costly, energy-intensive, and high-maintenance.

Smooth-running conveying system

The LOXrail system is a highly efficient and economic alternative to overhead cranes, air cushion vehicles, and conventional rail designs. The system comes in two sizes with 25 mm and 40 mm guide rail diameters for easy transportation of medium and heavy loads. Single- and double-wheel sets are available for both sizes. These accommodate payloads from 16 kN up to 100 kN. Goods loaded on standard or custom-made trolleys are safely transported and accurately positioned. The trolleys' nominal payloads vary with the number of wheel sets. With standard trolleys, payloads of up to 40 tons can be conveyed.

Optimized wheel profile

In contrast to conventional rails, which due to wheel flanges have a high friction coefficient, the LOXrail system has a very low rolling resistance. Because of its special rail and wheel profile, payloads of several tons, for instance machines, motors, or turbines, can be moved and precisely positioned by hand, without the need for an auxiliary drive. In applications requiring more power, the system can be equipped with electric or pneumatic movers, batteries, cable reels, or inductive drive technology.

Faster, more flexible installation

The LOXrail system is suitable for installation in the hall floor, as well as on steel girders. Installed in the floor, the rails are no obstacles for people walking or pallet jacks and forklifts passing over them. In addition, they can be installed more quickly, with less material resources, and at a more economical price than conventional conveyor systems. The wear-resistant, hardened rails made of CF53 precision steel or stainless steel are fixed in the aluminum holding frame by one single anchoring profile. This special design minimizes the risk of axial displacements. Intersections and turntables enable very flexible rail network layouts.
